It’s not easy keeping up with Kevin Martin’s assault on our senses. He’s been digging deep into abyssal ambient work under his own name a lot recently, delivering a powerful Amy Winehouse tribute on the monumental Black, but now he’s back to heavyweight soundsystem mode as The Bug with a new album Machine which drops at 3pm September 9 on Relapse Records. Head to the Bandcamp here to check out the full album, where you’re likely to have your head split open in a most satisfying manner by the upper mid frequencies while the reliably hefty low end swipes your legs out, but despite the confrontational nature of the music it’s not nihilistic.
